Thousands of Nevadans who have either exhausted their unemployment benefits or are in danger of doing so are about to get some relief.
Money to fund the unemployment extension benefits has arrived in Nevada and will start being distributed on Saturday. State workers were on the job until 2 a.m. Thursday processing the money so it can be distributed.
"Some of these people have exhausted all of their benefits and they were not eligible for anything more. For some, it’s been weeks, perhaps months, since they saw any type of benefits come through," said Mae Worthey, Dept. of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation.
